Prof. Emeritus Ayo Banjo – Pro-Chancellor & Chairman
Professor Emeritus Ladipo Ayodeji BANJO, CON, a Professor Emeritus of University of Ibadan, former Vice-Chancellor and Professor of English, had his education at Igbobi College, Yaba, Lagos, University of Glasgow, Scotland, University of Leeds, England, University of California, Los Angeles and University of Ibadan.
He has many honours to his credit as Justice of the Peace, Vice-President, Fellow and later President Nigerian Academy of Letters, D.Litt. Honoris Causa, Fellow of the Nigeria English Studies Association and Commander of the Order of the Niger. His professional record includes Head of Department, Dean of Faculty, Chairman Committee of Deans, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Acting Vice-Chancellor and later Vice-Chancellor and Chairman Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities.
He was Visiting Professor to many Universities within and outside Nigeria. He was Chairman of several Advisory Committees and Governing Council of Institution and Establishments. He was the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, University of Port Harcourt, University of Ilorin and Chairman Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities. He has published many books, several chapters in books and several articles in learned journals.
