CIRCULAR TO ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS – 2019/2020 SECOND SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS
At an enlarged Management Meeting with the Committee of Deans and University Examination Committee on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, the earlier decisions of Management on the Second Semester Examinations for the 2019/2020 Session were reviewed and the following new decisions were taken:
- That the earlier decision to conduct the examinations physically at various designated centres in various towns and cities in the country no longer applies;
- That the examinations will instead be conducted using the online mode;
- That the examinations will commence on Monday, July 20, 2020 as earlier decided;
- That the University Examinations Committee will monitor every stage of the online process, including accurate posting of the examination time-table on the University website and strict compliance with the examination schedule;
- That all examination questions will be released promptly, based on the date and time the examinations are to be taken;
- That students should test run the PIN numbers allocated to them to ensure that they will grant them access to the examination questions once they click on their computers;
- That Deans of Faculties should ensure that their staff deliver their lectures and set examination questions to be kept in safe custody such that NO live question is left on the computer of any member of staff;
- That all lecturers must ensure that Continuous Assessment assignments are given to students and students must submit such assignments online;
- That Continuous Assessment assignments shall constitute 30% of the total examination score; and
- That final year students must work at finishing their projects on time while lecturers should give them necessary guidance and prompt attention.
The above decisions are for information and due compliance as appropriate.
