The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Rt. Rev. Professor Dapo F. Asaju, has advised students in the University to take advantage of the uninterrupted time table of the institution to complete their studies in due time. He spoke through the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jacob Adeniyi, who represented him, at the matriculation Ceremony of postgraduate students held in the University Auditorium yesterday. He said the University runs its programmes without interruption of strikes by academic and non-academic staff. The implication being that serious students would complete their studies in due time because studies and general academic work go on without interruption.

He said the University currently has 22 programmes , fully accredited by the National Universities Commission [NUC] , in eight faculties. The University offers postgraduate programmes in most the courses. The NUC will soon come to verify the institution’s readiness to award doctorate degrees in the courses.  The students, who have registered for Master’s degree, could continue with the University if they wished, and made good grades to qualify them for doctoral work.  The Deputy Vice-Chancellor said the University also pays close attention to discipline and spirituality of students at all levels.

Later the Registrar Hon. Mrs. Adenike T. Fatogun administered the oath to the postgraduate students who affirmed that they were not cultists, homosexuals, or drug dealers, and took an oath not to engage in such activities. They pledged to obey authorities of the University in maintaining discipline, and ensuring smooth academic progress in the University.

Principal officers of the University and Deans of Faculties in the University attended the event.
