AJAYI CROWTHER UNIVERSITY WILL NOT TOLERATE MISCONDUCT -VC WARNS STUDENTS

The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Prof Timothy Adebayo, on Friday warned new students of the institution not to engage in any form of misconduct capable of derailing their academic pursuit and personal image.

Adebayo spoke during the 19th matriculation ceremony of the school, held inside the university’s premises to usher in fresh students admitted into the institution.

The ceremony, witnessed by parents and relatives of the matriculating students, also had in attendance the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Olumuyiwa Popoola, the registrar, Dr Jadesola Babatola, other principal officers and deans of faculties and heads of departments in the school.

While clarifying conducts forbidden by the university, Adebayo said, “Ajayi Crowther University frowns severely at any form of misconducts. There are stern measures taken against students who engage in the slightest form of examination malpractice.

“Note that regulations guiding your conducts during examination forbid engaging in any form of cheating. Also, sexual immorality and or any other shades of deviant behaviours are not tolerated in ACU. The culture promoted here is that of excellence in mind and spirit.

“The university does not condone indecent dressing, and strict actions are taken against erring students.”

The Vice-Chancellor used the opportunity to emphasise the university’s mission of shaping a pathway to success for its students, pointing out the importance of upholding the institution’s values to the students.

He stated, “Here we promote the culture of hard-work, dedication and spiritual development anchored on Christian principles. Students are exposed to the enormous intellectual tasks that will make them fit for healthy competitions in the global academic community and in other realities of life.”
