No Room for Cultism, Bullying, Harassment in ACU, VC Warns Students
The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Prof. Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole, has cautioned newly admitted students of the HND/Part-Time Conversion Programme against engaging in any act capable of tarnishing the image of the University.
Addressing the students during their matriculation ceremony held on Monday, Prof. Oduwole reminded them that ACU maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward cultism, bullying, sexual harassment, examination malpractice, and all forms of social vices.
She urged the new students to be worthy ambassadors of the University and to uphold its values of discipline, integrity, and excellence.
According to her, Ajayi Crowther University offers a academic environment that empowers students to realise their academic and personal aspirations.
“This institution has the capacity to help you break through the glass ceiling of life’s achievements,” she said.
“ACU supports you financially by allowing payment of school fees in three instalments. One of our strengths lies in the rich intellectual resources available in our library, our quality human resources and facilities designed to help students achieve their goals.”
Prof. Oduwole further advised the students to combine spirituality with their work in their academic pursuits.
“Since you have chosen to study at ACU, be good ambassadors of the University. True knowledge comes from God. Always pray before reading or writing your examinations ; that is the secret of my own successful academic journey,” she said.
She also pointed out the importance of decent dressing, stressing that appearance reflects personal values and respect for the institution.
“Dress decently because the way you dress is the way you will be addressed,” she noted.
“Do not engage in examination malpractice; your certificate is a testament to your perseverance and hard work.”
