Grant Workshop, an Investment in ACU’s Growth — VC
The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Prof. Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole, has described the Grant Clinic Workshop organised by the University as a strategic investment aimed at unlocking the vast opportunities within research grants and their impact on research development, as well as personal and institutional growth.
Delivering her opening address at the workshop, which was attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muyiwa Popoola; University Librarian, Dr. (Mrs.) Bosede Ajiboye; Chairman, Committee of Deans, Prof. Paul Akanbi; head of the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Linkage, Prof Folake Olanbiwoninu, Deans of various faculties; and heads of departments and units, Prof. Oduwole noted that it was time for the academic community to fully embrace the core business of teaching, research, and community development through the town-and-gown initiative.
She said, “We have to improve the level of our research. Research is the engine that drives innovation, We must engage the facilitators, listen to them, and build our capacity to apply for and win grants. The theme of this workshop is compelling, and I expect all academic staff to benefit from the wealth of experience of these seasoned administrators and former Vice-Chancellors who are here to guide us on research development and grant acquisition.”
The Modupe and Folorunso Alakija Faculty of Law Auditorium was filled with academic staff and relevant non-academic staff involved in the planning and execution of the programme.
The workshop continues tomorrow, Tuesday, December 3, 2025.
