BOT Chairman, Chief Olanipekun, Leads Working Visit to Campus
…Inspects Upgraded Health Centre
The Board of Trustees (BOT) of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, led by its Chairman, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, paid a working visit to the university campus on Monday, 13th July, 2026.
The visit was aimed at fostering robust interaction with the university’s academic and administrative leadership. Chief Olanipekun was accompanied by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr. Olutoyin Okeowo, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, and other members of the BOT, Principal Officers, Deans, and Directors.

During the tour, the BOT Chairman and his team engaged in productive discussions with Deans of various faculties and Directors of centres across the university.
An impromptu moment of warmth occurred when the team encountered some students from the nursing department in the central core area of the campus, leading to brief but friendly interaction.
A key highlight of the visit was the inspection of the university health centre, which has undergone recent upgrades. Chief Olanipekun, known for his simple, approachable, and forward-looking disposition, led the team through the facility. They inspected the newly refurbished amenities and equipment, commending the Vice-Chancellor and her management team for a job well done.

Prior to the inspection, the BOT members held a brief meeting in the University’s Council Chamber, where crucial matters aimed at developing the university were discussed.
Chief Olanipekun has a long history of commitment to the university. He previously served as Pro-Chancellor before his appointment as BOT Chairman, a period during which he and his wife personally donated a new Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge to replace the former structure.

Members of the BOT at the meeting were, the Chairman, Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN; the Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Olutoyin Okeowo; and members such as Sir Gbolahan Afolayan; Prof. Adeniyi Osuntogun; and Barrister Gboyega Afonja.
Other members who joined the meeting virtually were, Sen. Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor; Prof. Sunday Ogunduyile; Dr. Biodun Shobanjo and Dr. Bamgboye Ogunbiyi, while the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oduwole was in attendance.
