The newly matriculated postgraduate students of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, have been urged to uphold discipline, integrity, and service as hallmarks of their academic journey.

The postgraduate students, who come from diverse academic and professional programmes, received this charge from the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, during her matriculation welcome address to the newly admitted students on Wednesday, 12th August, 2026.

Speaking on the matriculants’ outlook and behaviour, Prof. Oduwole said, “Your conduct, dressing, and character will reflect on the reputation of this institution.” She encouraged them to be good ambassadors of Ajayi Crowther University both within and outside the country.

The Vice-Chancellor in her address, reaffirmed the university’s zero-tolerance stance on examination malpractice, cultism, and other social vices, urging students to abide strictly by all university rules and regulations. She also challenged them to develop a mindset of giving back by identifying areas of need and actively participating in activities that promote the growth of the university community.

Beyond personal academic achievement, Prof. Oduwole emphasised the critical role postgraduate students must play in national development through research. She called for problem-focused and solution-oriented research that could help minimise or eliminate challenges facing society while contributing to productivity and sustainable development.
