Information and Communication Technology
The B.Sc. (Honours) degree in Information and Communication Technology is conceived as a vehicle for serious academic learning and research geared towards development from theory to applications that will be beneficial to both the industry and government; a strong desire to achieve an enviable level of professionalism and entrepreneurship while maintaining good academic background germinating into a valuable industry- university
relationship.
Objectives
The objectives of the degree programme in Information and Communication Technology include:
i. availing the students with sound knowledge of the theory of Information and Communication Technology.
ii. making curricula content up-to-date and relevant to the nation’s needs
iii. gearing the training towards production of specialists.
iv. producing excellent trainable graduates for further academic work.
v. creating in students the awareness of new developments in the subject area with special interest in entrepreneurship; and
vi. exposing the students to state-of-the-art technology and industrial practice through the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES)
