CHAPLAINCY HOLDS VALEDICTORY SERVICE FOR REGISTRAR

The out-going Registrar of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Mrs. Adenike T. Fatogun, has been described as a hard-working person whose experience would be missed by the University. Speaking while delivering the sermon during the valedictory service organized by the Chaplaincy of the University, Most Reverend (Prof.) George L. Lasebikan said the University will miss her experience and prayed God to keep her in good health as she bows out of the University. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Adebayo, also eulogized the Registrar and confirmed that the University would miss her. On Monday, March 29, 2021, the Chaplaincy of Ajayi Crowther University held a valedictory thanksgiving service for the Registrar whose tenure lapsed on March 31, 2021.

The Holy Eucharist was attended by church dignitaries, guests, Principal Officers of the University, staff and students. Some of the church dignitaries at the service include Most Reverend (Prof.) George Lasebikan, retired Archbishop of Ondo Province, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and current Dean, Faculty of Humanities in the University, who gave the sermon and Rt. Rev. Dr. Williams O. Aladekugbe, Bishop of Oyo Diocese, who celebrated the Communion. The Registrar’s husband, Barrister Olumide Fatogun, was also at the service held at Crowther Hall.

Some members of staff, including Professor Muyiwa Popoola, Dean, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, spoke in honour of the retiring Registrar. The Chaplaincy, faculties, groups, and some individuals presented gifts to the Registrar at the service. In her speech, she thanked the Chaplaincy and the University Community for the honour done to her. She also expressed gratitude to guests who came from various places to attend the service.
