IMMORTALIZE YOUR NAME BY DONATING TO ACU, VC URGES PHILANTHROPISTS
Ajayi Crowther University’s (ACU) Vice Chancellor, Prof. Timothy Abiodun Adebayo has appealed to the rich and the philanthropists in the society to come and donate to the university through which their names will be immortalized.
Prof. Adebayo who made this call while inspecting some on-going projects on the campus of the university in Oyo, argued that ACU was a non-profit university established to raise Godly intellectuals, who are expected to proceed to be agents of great positive change and transformation in their immediate environment, the nations and in the world as a whole.
“Consequently, any donation towards the development and advancement of this university is an investment in humanity and for the betterment of the society. We all crave a peaceful, prosperous society. Any assistance rendered to this university is indirectly made towards a better society “, Prof. Adebayo stressed.
According to him, “today in Nigeria, there is a legion of problems including corruption, moral decadence, kidnapping, killing among others. This is chiefly because people don’t fear God. Many of these people were not raised with the fear of God. And this is part of what we are addressing in ACU. We are raising Godly intellectuals who will change Nigeria for the better”
The ACU boss therefore called on the rich and philanthropists in the society to join the efforts of the Anglican communion, the Proprietor of the university, in building the university towards positively changing the society for the better.
His words, “it may interest you to know that ACU charges one of the most affordable fees among private universities all over the country and the students are allowed to make payments in three installments. There are some courses we charge below N200, 000K. The intention is not to make money, but to raise intellectuals who will change the world”
Prof. Adebayo who praised those who have been donating and assisting the university noted that running a university of this nature was capital intensive, pointing out that a lot still needs to be done, “but with the goodwill and benefactions of the rich and the philanthropists, the challenges are surmountable.
Accompanied by the University’s Bursar, Mr. Samson Olojede, some of the inspected on-going projects included Post Graduate students hall of residence, Bakery and Classrooms.
