AJAYI CROWTHER UNIVERSITY SENATE HOLDS 103RD STATUTORY MEETING, EULOGISES OUT-GOING BURSAR

At its 103rd statutory meeting, at the Ofa Meta Campus of the University, members of the Senate of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, poured encomiums on the Bursar of the University, Pastor Samson Olojede, whose tenure would lapse on May 31, 2021. The Vice- Chancellor of the University, Professor Timothy Adebayo, said he invited the Bursar to the Senate meeting in order that members will wish him well as he exits the services of the University.
He stated that in the seven months he worked with Olojede , he has found that the out-going Principal Officer of the University encouraged him a lot when it looked as though resources were too lean for projects.

‘When I assumed office in October last year, and observed that the water factory in the University was not operating maximally, and wanted to purchase a good bottling machine for the factory, I was not too sure if I should do so because of paucity of funds. Pastor Olojede encouraged me to take the plunge, insisting that it was possible. We went ahead to do it. Today the factory has a brand new bottling machine. The same thing happened when I wanted to upgrade the University Bakery by getting new oven. He encouraged me. Today we have a better Bakery. We have three buildings being constructed in the campus, thanks to the encouragement and tremendous support of the Bursar. I will certainly miss him. I wish him well in his future endeavour’ Professor Adebayo said.

Other members of the University Senate spoke glowingly about Pastor Olojede, describing him as an astute manager of men and resources. He was also said to be a very humble person, who gave due respect to everyone he came across. Members of the University Senate who spoke in the meeting thanked him for managing the funds of the University in a prudent manner. He was commended for seeking to improve himself always, given that he came to the University with a first degree but has acquired a masters degree in Accounting, and has enrolled for a doctoral programme. After the eulogies, the Dean of Faculty of Humanities, Archbishop G.L. Lasebikan, a Professor in the Department of Religious studies, prayed for the Bursar, and wished him well in his future endeavour.

The Bursar, in his response, thanked the University for the opportunity to serve, and appealed to everyone to support Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Adebayo, saying that he has a great vision for the University. Olojede thanked God for lifting him from a humble beginning to a commendable height in his profession. He was Deputy Bursar at the University of Ibadan before his appointment as Bursar at Ajayi Crowther University five years ago.
