ADEDIBU HAILS ACU AS LEADING PRIVATE UNIVERSITY IN NIGERIA
Prof. Abass Adedibu, a member of the Governing Council at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, has commended the management of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Timothy Adebayo, for their dedication to elevating the institution to a model status among private universities in Nigeria.
Adedibu said this during his visit to ACU Vice-Chancellor in his office on Wednesday. He was accompanied on the visit by the National President of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education Alumni Association, Kola Amole.
Adedibu, who is the son of the late Ibadan prominent politician, Lamidi Adedibu, was welcomed to ACU by Prof Adebayo and his deputy Prof Muyiwa Popoola.
While expressing his admiration for what he described as ultimate serene academic environment at ACU, Adedibu said, “This is my first time of coming to Ajayi Crowther University and I must say sincerely that I am impressed. God will make the institution grow more because nothing passes the will of God. He will give the management the right people that will move it forward beyond this point.
“In Nigeria, we have some private universities that only qualifies as mushroom institutions; I don’t know how the National Universities Commission grants approval to such schools. ACU is far above many private tertiary institutions in Nigeria. I will love to come back and reassess the academic credentials of schools again, but with my little interaction with the institution today, I am sure the findings will be as good as the school’s environmental excellence.
“The Vice-Chancellor is my own brother from well knowledgeable family. We don’t hide anything from anyone. My advise for him is to continue the good job and be guided by God.”
