ALAAFIN COMMENDS AJAYI CROWTHER UNIVERSITY, PRAYS FOR VICE-CHANCELLOR

The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi (III), has expressed happiness that Ajayi Crowther University is located in his domain, stating that the man after whom the University is named, Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther , was a great man who did exploits as an evangelist and became the first African to be consecrated bishop. He said Oyo people are delighted to have the University located in the town. He made the comment when the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Adebayo, led other members of Management of the University on a courtesy visit to the Alaafin in his palace.

The royal father said he holds the University in high esteem, which was why he shelved other items in his schedule for Thursday October 8, 2020, in order to receive the team from the University. He prayed that the University would grow tremendously under the watch of Professor Timothy Adebayo who recently took over as Vice-Chancellor of the University.

The Vice- Chancellor, in his remark, thanked the royal father for the fatherly role he has played towards the University, and pledged that the school would continue to be a good member of the Oyo community. He said he has very high regard for His Imperial Majesty, which was why he felt it was fit and proper for him to pay a visit to the royal father before settling down in office. He pleaded with Alaafin to continue to support the University. Members of Management who accompanied the Vice-Chancellor on the visit include Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jacob Adeniyi, Registrar, Mrs. Adenike T. Fatogun, Bursar, Pastor Samson Olojede and Librarian, Dr. Mrs. Beatrice Fabunmi. The Deputy Registrar, Vice- Chancellor’s Office, Mr. Michael Abikoye, and others were also in the entourage.
