Dr Adeyemi Binuyo of the Department of Physical Sciences of Ajayi Crowther University has described Mathematics as the doorway for accessing other subjects and study areas. He said this during the second Faculty Lecture series titled “the significance of mathematical modeling in epidemiology with particular reference to infectious diseases among infants” which was held on May 8, 2014 at the University Auditorium

According to him mathematical models are powerful tools predicting the behavior of infectious diseases among infants within a population.

The Lecturer said that the spread of infectious diseases among infants in our society has always been a great challenge to public health, and to prevent or control infectious diseases more effectively is to fully understand the mechanism of the spread mathematical model which is an activity of translating a real life problem into mathematical equations for subsequent analysis of the real problem.

ACU, FOURTH BEST PRIVATE ‘VARSITY IN NIGERIA

Ajayi Crowther University Oyo has been rated 4th best private university in Nigeria according to the  Webometric ranking of all Nigerian Universities. ACU also came 30th out of more than 100 universities in Nigeria. The criteria for this Webometric ranking are Manpower and Infrastructure among others.

Ajayi Crowther University founded in January 2005 emerged fourth out of more than 50 private Universities in Nigeria. The university which had just been given Full- Accreditation status for all courses on offer has graduated more than 2000 students in the last four years.
