VC, BISHOPS LAY FOUNDATION FOR TWIN DUPLEX FOR PRINCIPAL OFFICERS
The foundation laying ceremony for new residential quarters for some Principal Officers of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, was held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, near the Vice- Chancellor’s lodge. Many of the Bishops who came for Most Rev. Prof. George L. Lasebikan’s book launch, held earlier that day at Law Faculty Auditorium, were at the ceremony.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Adebayo, had announced at the book launch, that the foundation laying ceremony would hold same day. No less than four bishops, including Most Reverend G.L. Lasebikan, Rt. Rev. Williams Aladekugbe, Bishop of Oyo, Rt. Rev. O.O. Oduntan, Bishop of Crowther Diocese, Rt. Rev. Stephen Adeniran Oni, Bishop of Ondo Diocese, and Rt. Rev. Abel Ajibodu, Bishop of Ile- Oluji, were on hand to participate in the ceremony.
The Vice-Chancellor said the buildings would serve as residential quarters for Principal Officers of the University. He told the bishops that the University was making progress, stating that the University farm has started to produce honey for sale apart from the acres of cassava which would soon be due for harvest. He said that the farm already has a fishery, just as it has marked out some acres, in the Ofa Meta campus, where it would plant pineapples. He also announced that the University Bakery has taken delivery of a new oven just as the water factory also has a new Bottling Machine.
According to Engineers working at the site of the residential quarters, it would be two four-bedroom duplexes. Principal Officers of the University, namely the Bursar, Pastor Samson Olojede, Librarian, Dr. Mrs. Beatrice Fabunmi, and the Registrar, Mrs. Adenike T. Fatogun(who was performing her last official function), were at the ceremony.
