VICE-CHANCELLOR PAYS WORKING VISIT TO OSOOGUN CAMPUS

The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Professor Timothy Adebayo, led the Management team on a working visit to Osoogun on Wednesday, to ascertain the level of work on the university campus in that town.

At the site, the VC inspected the two blocks in the campus which are nearing completion, and expressed his desire to get the campus ready as soon as possible. He directed that the site should be cleared of construction debris and be tidied up in line with the environment, health and safety standards. He had a phone conversation with the contractor, who was not on site, and invited him to his office for further briefing.

The Management later went round the campus and deliberated on the opening up of a road that will directly link the University site and cut the journey time. Speaking to a representative of the Osoogun community, Dr. J. O. Ojenike ,who was on hand, the VC asked him to assist the University with the proper mapping of the University lands to prevent encroachment. Dr. Ojenike pledged the readiness of the community to work with the University in all ramifications, and to make the campus project a huge success.

Similarly, the Management visited the site of the ancestral home of the mother of late Bishop Ajayi Crowther being preserved by the Ajayi Crowther University. The VC equally asked that the surrounding areas be weeded and kept tidied at all times.

The Management team also visited a local bakery in the town, where the VC and his entourage interacted with the workers. Before finally leaving the community, the team called at the home of the traditional ruler, Chief Adebiosi Olalere to wish the Baale and the community a peaceful and prosperous new year.
