Ajayi Crowther University to Honour Bishop and Mrs. Akinfenwa with Community Hymn Festival

Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, is set to host a grand Community Hymn Singing ceremony in honour of the institution’s Visitor, the Most Rev’d Dr. Joseph Olatunji, and his wife, Mama Comfort Akinfenwa.

The event, scheduled for Sunday, 26th April, 2026, will take place at The Cathedral of St. James The Great, Oke-Bola, Ibadan, beginning at 3:00pm.

The gathering will celebrate the spiritual and academic contributions of the Bishop of Ibadan Diocese and his wife, recognising their steadfast leadership and service to both the church and the university community.

The theme of the event is “Ẹ MÁ TÈSÍWÁJÚ” — drawn from Philippians 3:14 — which translates to “Press forward,” reflecting the Apostle Paul’s call to press toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly calling in Christ Jesus.

The programme is being convened by the Vice-Chancellor, Ajayi Crowther University, Prof. (Mrs.) Ebunoluwa Oduwole, who invites members of the university community, clergy, students, and the general public to attend and participate in a spirit of unity and praise.

The Community Hymn Singing promises to be an afternoon of worship, choral renditions, and communal thanksgiving, as attendees join voices to honour two of the diocese’s most revered figures.
