FUNAAB Celebrates ACU Librarian, Bursar
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), on January 30, 2026, honoured the Bursar of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Dr Ayodele Olusanwo, and the University Librarian, Dr Bosede Ajiboye, at a colourful ceremony organised to celebrate FUNAAB staff currently serving as principal officers in universities and allied institutions within and outside Nigeria.
The event, which formed part of activities marking FUNAAB’s 33rd Convocation Ceremony, saw the recognition of 19 staff members who, like Dr Olusanwo and Dr Ajiboye, occupy top administrative positions across the higher education sector.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of FUNAAB Governing Council, HRM Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, Asoludero, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Land, described the appointments of the honourees as a testament to FUNAAB’s capacity for producing competent and visionary leaders for Nigeria’s university system.
According to him, the continued demand for FUNAAB-trained professionals at the highest levels of university administration speaks volume of the institution’s strong culture of excellence, leadership and service.
He said, “FUNAAB is not the only university in Nigeria, yet the number of high-ranking officers emerging from this institution speaks eloquently about our values, leadership culture and the quality of human capital nurtured here. Within just 24 months, FUNAAB has produced an unprecedented number of principal officers and heads of tertiary institutions, an achievement unmatched by any other university in the country.”
Oba Olabomi described Dr Olusanwo as a highly skilled accountant whose tenure at FUNAAB left a lasting impression on the university’s bursary operations.
He said, “Dr Olusanwo, the current bursar of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, is a highly skilled accountant and respected professional. His contributions to university financial management are remarkable. As Head of Final Accounts, he oversaw the preparation and presentation of the university’s Annual Reports and Accounts between 2013 and 2017, a period marked by transparency, accountability and financial discipline.”
The royal father also commended Dr Ajiboye for her dedication to mentorship and service.
“She is a committed mentor to many students, particularly those in paramilitary organisations. Courageous, friendly and service-oriented, she exemplifies the values of mentorship and commitment,” he said.
To mark the significance of the honour, the Chairman of the Governing Council presented gifts to the honourees at the ceremony.
