Olabisi Onabanjo University Celebrates ACU VC , Prof Oduwole
Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, last week celebrated one of its distinguished academics, Professor Ebunoluwa Oduwole, following her appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo. The university described her elevation as a testament to the quality and strength of OOU’s academic staff.
The commendation was made during the institution’s 35th Convocation Ceremony in a speech delivered by the Vice-Chancellor of OOU, Professor Ayodeji Olayinka Agboola. Professor Agboola noted that Professor Oduwole’s appointment has further enhanced the reputation of Olabisi Onabanjo University on the national academic stage.
According to him, the university’s staff members have continued to distinguish themselves in various fields of academic and administrative leadership across the country and beyond. He stated that Professor Oduwole’s appointment as Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University as a clear demonstration of the high calibre of scholars produced by OOU.
He said, “Our staff have continued to make us proud in different areas, During the period under review, a member of staff, Professor Ebunoluwa Oduwole of the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts, was appointed Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo. This appointment showcases the quality of our academics and the depth of leadership capacity within our institution.”
Professor Oduwole brings close to four decades of experience in academics and university administration to Ajayi Crowther university. During her long and distinguished career at Olabisi Onabanjo University, she held several strategic and leadership positions, including Head of the Department of Philosophy, Director of General and Entrepreneurial Studies, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).
In her role as Director of General and Entrepreneurial Studies, Professor Oduwole worked closely with undergraduate students, particularly those in their first and second years.
This position afforded her direct contact into the academic and personal challenges faced by students, enabling her to contribute meaningfully to policies and programmes of OOU, aimed at improving learning outcomes and overall student development.
Her appointment, the university noted, reflects her personal dedication and OOU’s commitment to producing scholars and administrators capable of leading higher education institutions with distinction.
