The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Prof. (Mrs.) Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole, today, October 31st, 2025, was presented with a Certificate of Service in recognition of her support to Enactus Nigeria, an international Non-Profit Organisation which focusses on youth development.
While receiving the Certificate of Service in her office, the Vice-Chancellor expressed her delight over the return of Enactus to the University, commending the team for their commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and social impact among students.
Present at the presentation were Michael Ajayi, Country Director, Enactus Nigeria; Raphael Anagbe, Head of Programmes; Toluwalase David-Oluwole, Programme Officer; and Dr Peter Oiku of Ajayi Crowther University.
Prof. Oduwole expressed ACU’s readiness to partner with the organisation in areas that will enhance students’ personal and professional development, particularly in entrepreneurship, leadership training, and community-based projects.
She also assured the team of her continuous support in ensuring that Enactus contributes to the development of ACU students.
Leader of the team, Michael Ajayi, said the organisation works with undergraduate students all over the world to build their capacity in leadership, entrepreneurship and project management for future success whether as professional in paid employment or as entrepreneurs.
He said the organisation records regular growth of more than 40,000 student membership annually.
He said, “The whole idea is to get them ready for the future. The organisation is in 33 countries and it has been in Nigeria for 25 years and active in 35 institutions across the country.
“Our visit to Ajayi Crowther University is at the instance of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole. She has invited us to restart our programme in ACU. Some years ago, Enactus was active in ACU and we are happy to return.
“Over the last two weeks, about 150 students have obtained the application form and we have screened them to 44 in number. They are going to be part of our programme.
“We came today to present Certificate of Service to the Vice-Chancelor and do the inaugural training for the students, introduce them to the concept, purpose and process so that they will be equipped to work with us.
“When they are trained, they will identify problems that affect people in their environment and come up with innovative business solution to help those who affected. As they solve the problems, they are creating economic and job opportunities for the people and build social enterprise.”
Ajayi said there is no prejudice to any student as the programme is open to students of all levels and all departments.
