Vice-Chancellor Begins Familiarisation Tour

The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Prof. Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole, today commenced her familiarisation tour of the University with visits to the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, ACU Radio, and the Faculty of Engineering.
At the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, where she was warmly received by the Dean, Prof. Alabi, along with Heads of Departments and members of staff, Prof. Oduwole addressed issues relating to result upload challenges and transcript processing.
She directed the Director of ICT to deploy two staff members to each of the 12 faculties in the University to handle result and transcript-related matters effectively.
Responding to a request by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof Olumuyiwa Popoola, for the provision of solar power at the faculty, the Vice-Chancellor assured that the matter would be given due consideration. She also promised that the issue of imprest allocations to relevant offices would soon be resolved.
In addition, Prof. Oduwole instructed all academic staff to register with Google Scholar, LinkedIn, Academia.edu, and ResearchAid on or before the end of the week, as part of efforts to strengthen the University’s academic visibility and professional networking.
On the issue of staffing, she cautioned against recruitment of staff not needed in order not to jeopardize her dream of salary increase proposal to the Governing Council.
At ACU Radio, the Vice-Chancellor went on air to reiterate her 30-point agenda for the University over the next five years. She emphasized that these goals can only be achieved if all staff members see themselves as stakeholders and active participants in the University’s collective vision.

Her tour continued at the Faculty of Engineering, where she was received by the Dean, Prof. Ademola Akinwonmi, alongside Heads of Departments and staff. While addressing them, Prof. Oduwole once again reiterated the directive for all staff to complete their registration on the four professional and academic platforms within the week.
